Finished! Our ExoMars Rover was completed and delivered to J & S Technologies on Friday. We are very grateful to have been brought in to make this one.
This piece was mostly handmade from styrene with the steel allthread for support. Bits that required multiples were either molded and cast in urethane resin from patterns we made or 3D printed or Laser Cut. We never actually weighed it but it likely came in around 50lbs or so.
This was a challenging build in that, unlike film or television props, it needed to be both structurally tough AND look legit under close scrutiny since it will be shipped to Kuwait to live in a museum in Spring 2017.
