#ExoMars – by @wireduk on Instagram

Is there life on Mars? We’re closer than ever to finding out. ExoMars 2016 launched this morning at 09:31 GMT on a Proton-M rocket from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The goal of the joint project between ESA and Russian space agency Roscosmos is to find out whether life has ever existed on the Red Planet (\ »Exo\ » refers to the study of exobiology – the possible existence of life beyond Earth). The programme’s second launch is planned for in 2018 and comprises a rover and surface science platform. (   ESA-Stephane Corvaja, 2016 )
