Bill Anders inside of the command module during his mission of Apollo 8, where he served as lunar module pilot. Interesting fact about this mission: the three astronauts had separate sleeping shifts, so that at least one person could be flying the spacecraft at all times. Yet while in orbit around the Moon, Frank Borman was taking his sleeping shift, yet Anders and Jim Lovell had already stayed awake for many hours and were quite exhausted and had to fly the spacecraft for the next few hours. Borman woke up momentarily to check on the other two, and when he did so, he found two astronauts that were just too tired to fly one of the most complex spacecraft ever. After this dilemma, NASA decided to have all of the astronauts sleep at the same time and be awake at the same time. Have a great day!
