I can’t imagine being away from family on Christmas day. But let’s not forget the thousands of military soldiers who can’t be with their families this time of year, as well as the astronauts on the International Space Station. Astronaut Peggy Whitson is pictured enjoying her festivities earlier today with her Santa hat and socks.
Looks like outer space is even celebrating Christmas with the Cat’s Eye Nebula, NGC 6543, the remnants of a massive supernova that occurred years ago. Not the best pic, but I wasn’t going to take a photo, but at the last minute I decided I would, so I was rushed….anyway, that light trail is the sky in the International Space Station. It was actually quite amazing to see, I did wave but I doubt they saw me. A lovely way
