Like oil on canvas: The second image in our visual trip across Western Australia, from aboard the ISS, takes us across the Hamersley Range in the Pilbara region of the Australian Shield (or ‘Western Plateau’). It’s an area known for the mining of iron ore, asbestos, and to a lesser extent, gold. Local wildlife include the red kangaroo, wallaroo, and dingo. /// See and learn more at link in bio.
