The Black Eye Galaxy (also knows as the ‘messier 64 or the sleeping beauty galaxy’ is well known amongst astronomer due it its visibility through small telescopes. This is because it has a thick dark band of absorbing dust in front of it’s very bright nucleus. *Fun fact*- this galaxy is also called the ‘evil eye’ due to its looks.
