Astronauts John Young and Michael Collins suited up in their EVA suits for Gemini X, which took place in July of 1966. Interesting fact: during this mission, Young and Collins docked to an Agena target vehicle in space. The date that they undocked from the Agena vehicle was July 20th as they prepared to return to Earth. Three years later to the date, Michael Collins would be performing another undocking. It would be as he sat inside of the Apollo 11 command module Columbia and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin undocked from him inside of the lunar module Eagle as they made their journey down to land on the lunar surface for the first time in human history. It seemed as though Gemini X secured his place in the stars as the legendary command module pilot of Apollo 11.
