On this 6th day of January, 2017, Peggy Whitson, an American astronaut aboard the ISS is completing her 7th spacewalk! She is now tied in the record for total space walks by a woman with NASA astronaut Suni Williams. At 56 years old, Whitson is now the oldest woman in space and the US female with the longest time spent aboard the space station. Her mission today, along with fellow US astronaut Shane Kimbrough, is to install adapter plates and replace nickel-hydrogen batteries with lithium-ion batteries on board the station. Talk about Fascinating!
