HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. May we take better care of our precious home and it’s amazing diversity of life. Here is a closeup of BEHOLD EARTH: watercolor, wax & oil crayon on clayboard. I painted this solitary astronaut taking a reflective moment to acknowledge the immense beauty of our watery planet. To me, the space walker seems so vulnerable and alone, as does the Earth below. I tried to convey a sense of longing for home as well as the awe one must feel when floating above this wondrous orb, knowing that its lands and oceans support a diversity of life that boggles the mind.
