Today, in 1968, astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and William Anders of Apollo 8 were launched into space aboard a Saturn V rocket for their iconic mission. They would spend 3 days traveling to the Moon, and on Christmas Eve, they would give planet Earth one of the most amazing Christmas gifts ever when they entered lunar orbit and showed the view of our precious blue marble to all of us.
