Today, in 1971, astronauts Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell, and Stuart Roosa were launched into space aboard a Saturn V rocket as part of their mission of Apollo 14, the third manned mission to land on the Moon. Shepard and Mitchell would land on the Moon on February 5, and they would spend a day on the Moon, where they would play golf on the lunar surface. Have a great day!
